The grid in force since 1 April 2022
The hotel rating grid strengthens criteria on environmental protection and sustainability. Among them, staff training in energy saving, water saving and waste management becomes a mandatory 5-point criterion.
Remember: any mandatory non-compensable criterion that is not met makes a rating impossible.
Rooms, suites and apartments
Rooms
The grid sets a maximum of 8 people per room (criteria 29 to 43). The required floor area depends on the number of occupants. Whether private or shared, a room must meet the mandatory criteria of the target category.
Furnished apartments
Within the grid, furnished apartments count as a family room or a suite (criteria 38 to 43 and 111). A suite is either a room of at least 60 m² or an apartment with a separate bedroom and living room.
A tourist hotel rating applies to a single star category and covers every room and apartment in the property.
Shared facilities
Services and facilities can be shared between several properties, provided they meet the set requirements. The related guidance and table are available below.
